The DIY Aquarium caught up with Allan Semeit at the Southwest Aquatic Society’s Swap Meet. He confirmed that the 2026 Southwest Aquarium Keepers Event will be keeping to the 2025 schedule format. We will update as new information is released.
TENTATIVE SAKE 2026 SCHEDULE
8:00 AM Set up begins – Volunteers set up Silent Auction and raffle tables; etc..
8:30 Webb Room doors open for attendee registration. All participants should enter here first.
8:30 Powell Room opens for silent and regular auction registration ONLY. This room is closed to the public until 10:30 AM.
10:30 Silent Auction registration ends.
Regular Auction registration continues.
All items brought in after 11 AM will be
placed in the regular auction.
10:30 Powell room opens to the public and Silent Auction buying begins. Silent auction Items will be distributed starting at 5:00 (if you cannot stay until then, please do NOT bid on items in the Silent Auction)
11:00 First program: John Aspega – What Do You Do With Fish You Can No Longer Keep?
12:00 Lunch Break
1:00 First Raffle Drawing session
1:30 Second program: Ron Harlan – Killifish
2:30 Break
2:45 Silent Auction buying ends!!! Items will be distributed starting at 5:00

3:30 Third program: Chuck Rambo – Unusual Dwarf Cichlids for the Planted Aquarium –
4:30 Second (final) Raffle Drawing session
5:00 Silent Auction distribution begins

5:30 Fourth program: Greg Sage – Selective Breeding of your Aquarium Fish
6:30 Regular Auction – second session – until completed. We need to be finished by 9 PM (including clean up).
