At SAKE 2026 John Aspega will be presenting on the topic “What do you do with fish you can no longer keep?”
John grew up in North Carolina where his love for fish started with chasing bluegill and large mouth bass in the lakes around his home. Eventually this passion for finding fish in the wild led him to fall in love with keeping them in aquariums. John started Uwharrie Aquatics in 2021 as a livebearer breeder for stores in the Charlotte NC area. He moved to Arizona and is now the President of Northern Arizona Aquarium Rescue, CEO of Yavapai Aquatics and head of the Red Rock Aquarium Society all located in Sedona AZ.
